Experts estimate that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress related. And perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress. While eliminating anxiety and pressure altogether in this fast-paced world may be idealistic, massage can help greatly reduce everyday stress, leading to benefits such as:
  • decreased anxiety and depression
  • enhanced sleep quality and greater energy
  • improved concentration
  • increased circulation
  • endorphin release (the body’s painkillers)
  • enhanced immunity
  • reduced fatigue, muscle cramping and spasms
  • improved range of motion
  • increased mental clarity and emotional balance

Research continues to show the enormous benefits of touch—which range from treating chronic diseases, neurological disorders, and injuries, to alleviating the tensions of modern lifestyles. Budgeting time and money for bodywork at consistent intervals is truly an investment in your health!

Susan is a 2017 graduate of the Healing Arts and Massage School in Raleigh. She is also a graduate of North Carolina State University with BAs in Psychology and Communication. She offers Swedish massage and lymphatic massage at the Sagewood Center. Take a few moments out of your day to be quiet and still, to calm your body and mind, to encourage peace and healing. With a punchcard, come for five sessions and your sixth is half price!

Being a licensed North Carolina Board Certified Massage and Bodywork Therapist you are in great hands. I am deeply passionate about the healing effects massage can have on the whole body. Through my practice, I take great care to create a nurturing and safe environment. Working together to promote well-being in order to keep the mind, body, and spirit healthy. I believe that great changes can happen with an open mind and consistency.

Each massage includes the InfraMat Pro® which incorporates far infrared, negative ion, and hot stone therapy naturally into your body. I draw from a variety of modalities to create each session specifically for you, from muscle-specific deep tissue massage to Swedish massage and sports massage. With the intention to create movement in your muscles and joints, I find it very beneficial to incorporate stretching along with dynamic and static cupping.
