Sue Norcia is a Licensed and Board Certified by the North Carolina Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy since 2000. She is a Nationally Certified Continuing Education Instructor for Massage Therapists through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork. She was fortunate to have the opportunity to study with some of the most amazing therapists in the field and graduated from the esteemed Body Therapy Institute on South Wind Farm, NC in 1999 and has been a practicing massage therapist for the past 22 years. She’s a Psychology Major and holds a Master’s degree in Counseling.
As a part of her passion for holistic health & wellness, fitness, and personal development, and her life work as an educator and coach, Sue created Bio-Savvy Living Bodywork Therapies in 2000 to integrate her background into an integrative model of holistic health for her clients. Her career path of practicing as a diagnostic imaging technologist, mental health counselor and corporate process and change facilitator along with multiple academic health instructor opportunities led her to realize that many of the health situations she observed with her patients, friends, colleagues and family could be prevented with simple modifications of lifestyle choices and habits. She found massage and bodywork therapy to be a powerful holistic service which connected so many dimensions of health in one single session. Her education at BTI allowed her to integrate grounding, balance and clarity into her everyday life and to apply this model as a coach in roles inside and outside her private practice. Sue believes that clients get the best therapy when sessions are tailor designed for each client’s individual needs. A session takes into consideration a client’s goals and objectives for each session and therefore includes variations to Swedish techniques, deep tissue and Myofascial release, gentle trigger point release, joint movement for opening up the body, stretching, and hydrotherapy. Her model includes assessment and integration of the 8 dimensions of health. Sue specializes in relaxation, stress reduction, enhanced movement, detoxification and pain relief. She focuses on Women’s Health, Athletic ability, posture and movement throughout life stages, Life transitions- mind-body-spirit, Body Image and Confidence, and Lymphatic Drainage and detoxification. (She has also provided pet massage with dogs as well as horses.) All sessions practice eco-friendly mindfulness. Please ask for more information regarding chemical and allergy sensitivities as this is also an area of specialty. |
